link database – intro
The idea behind this project occurred to me because I simply got sick of dealing with different bookmarks on different machines, having people send me random URL's in the mail, as well as never having the bookmarks handy when I was at a friend's machine. I wanted the bookmarks in a central database that I could access from anywhere, keep organized much better than any flat file, as well as having the extra benefit of sharing the bookmarks with others. Several interesting ideas present themselves: how about a cron job that checks the validity of the links, generates a list of keywords, ...
